1.5.0_06.

I'm not sure about 1.4. I've been running 1.5 for quite a while now...without issues. Oh, I think it was the MovieTimes Plug-in that may have required it...

I have movie times running on 1,4 just fine... well I might ghost it and go to 1.5. Java has just been one of those things I don't mess with on my sage boxes, but this is improtant enough I might just bite the bullet. Thanks for the info Geo!

1.5.06 is the one that has had resource problems. Specifically handle release problems. See this thread specifically this post. Don't know if it is still a problem or not.

BobP.

Edit: Didn't mean to scare but this is why I'm still at 1.4.11. What comes with SageTV currently I think.

I have strickly been using Java 1.4 for a ling time, and just switched two PCs to Java 1.5.7 to get the HAL import to work (and I want to try out the FM radio import that requires Java 1.5). I was worried about 1.5 but it seems to be doing great. Theater Times and Web Radio are working fine on my Java 1.4.2 and Java 1.5.7 machines.

I had problems getting this plugin to work on my main cleint which was using 1.5 and rolling back to 1.4 got it going.

The sympom was that I could not see any stations to choose even though there was a valid station file.

I'm seeing the same thing, but with 1.4... I can't see any channel listings at all, but if i delete the channellist... it will NOT create a "generic" one. So its almost like the java isn't doing its thing. But its good to know that some have it working with 1.4. Maybe I'll try a few more things before I go to 1.5.

Final Update... I took chance and updated to Java 1.5.07 I think it is... Fixed all my issues with the WebRadio, and everything else seems to be working properly. I guess something in Java was maybe hosed or something, but the update did cure my problems. Thanks for all the info.

Hmm...has the 07 release fixed the memory leak issue with Sage? I have 06, and once in a while, I see the memory get consumed by sage, and it crashes.

Not completely sure... I'll keep an eye on it. I've been running since Friday with no issues. *fingers crossed*

Actually, I just read on the "Memory Leak" thread, that 07 did not fix the issue, most reverted back to 05 to fix that issue...

Java 1.5.2

I found 1.5.5 unstable (also 1.5.4). For me Java 1.5.2 is the version of choice. No handle leaks with VMR9 (1.5.6 and 1.5.7), no mystery drops to the desktop (1.5.6 also) no Microsoft 'Java has encountered an error and needs to close' messages (1.5.4 and 1.5.5). And it still runs things that need JRE 1.5.x.

Cheers
eric

Has anyone else got the problem that the music won't stop playing??

Plugin seemed to work fine, but the buttin 'stop playback' doesn't stop playback and even stopping Sage doesn't stop the music from playing?

Weird.

Make sure you have the latest and install it into your STV that didn't have a previous version of it in the first place.

Web Radio Plugin for SageMC v1.1b

Made a minor update that prevents the "Display Video On Menus" multimedia setting from getting stomped on.

v1.1b - 7/31/2006

* Prevent "display_video_on_menus" setting from inadvertantly getting set to Never in different situations. This affects the display of the video preview window on the guide and menus.

Hi Morgan111,

FYI, I just downloaded v1.1b. It looks like it still contains the v1.1a files. The file name, size, and time stamp of the STVi file in the download are identical to version 1.1a. I don't know if this is what happened, but I think the changes to the uploaded file don't take if you try to change both the text and update the file at the same time. You have to change them separately and press the update file button for each (once for the text change and once for the new uploaded file). Please igore if you already knew about this. Thanks for porting this great plugin to sageMC!

Aloha,
Mike

Ack! Thanks for the info Mike. I have done that before and new not to upload at the same time as a text edit, but I think I tried to upload it where images are uploaded. I need to do a test download after my uploads. It is good now.

Disables Display Video on Menus

Anyone else having this problem with WebRadio? I'm using v1.1b and after playing Webradio if I select stop then go to watch a recording or live tv the video is paused in the preview pane. I have to go back to config and turn back on.

Did you happen to download it before yesterday afternoon? The glitch in the download file mention in the posts before yours would have caused you to actually download the 1.1a version which did have that related problem.

Hey fellas,

I'm brand new to Sage (former Meedio user) and am trying to set this stvi up. I've installed the original SageMC and then the most recent import and everything seems to be fine. I then installed this plugin and set up a menu item on the main menu pursuant to the instructions.

Upon entering the menu i get the Next Station, Previous Station menu choices and then a blank Title: Station: etc. Now the instructions say that the stationlist.txt file should be automatically created in my sagetv/sagetv root directory but I don't see anything there.

Am I making a rookie mistake and just missed where this is at? Thanks for any help in advance.
