Manually Correct Guide Error

Hi I was hoping someone can help me. I have been using SageTV for about 2 months now and need to fix an Error.

My guide consistuanly reports the wrong show time for the SCIFI channel. The show time is always off my 3 hours. For example at 5:00PM X Files is on TV when SageTV tells me X Files aired at 2:00pm. Every single other channel in the guide is perfectly fine.

I know this is not SageTV's fault because BeyondTV had the same error. Even tvguide.com reports the time shift but they seem to adjust their scheudled to report the correct times.

Is there some way i can manually shit the time on the guide so the time will be correct?

Have you tried to see if there are any other channel lineups that you can use? Perhaps a neighboring city may have the same channel lineup, but with the alternate SCIFI channel. It sounds like your EPG has the East Coast feeed info instead of the West Coast feed.

This happens when using the built-in EPG data? That data comes from Zap2It. Do their listings for your area have the same problem?

This FAQ has info on how to report EPG data errors to SageTV.

Come on Andy, find the simple solution, why don't you.

Getting SageTV to have Zap2It fix the problem, why didn't I think of that? I quess that's why you make the big bucks

Zap2it has the same problem listed, and I did send all the information need to SageTV so i hope you guys can get it fixed. But isn't their some simple way I can fix it myself. There is no file where I can just edit the show time?

No, the show data is all stored in the wiz.bin file which is also encrypted. You may not be able to fix the guide yourself, but you can probably using padding to fix the problem with any favorites by setting both the start and end padding to 3 hours later.

I tried exactly this last month when I found that the disney channel data was off by 3 hours. When you set up the padding everything appears like it is going to work, but when it comes time for the show to actually record (3 hours later than the listing), it just disappears. I think the recording has to start before or sometime during the actual airing for it to actually record. Here is a link to where I originally posted this issue.

Aloha,
Mike
