MVP intermittent crash on power ON

searched but couldnt find anything so here it is -

i have three MVPs (old Rev1) and old three intermittently crash when powering on with the remote. The TV makes a screeching noise and the screen goes black.

It happens maybe once in twenty times and is always fixed by a hard reboot of the MVP (pull and push the power plug).

Anyone else seeing this ? Is this a known issue ?

The problem is discussed in this thread.

No solution yet I'm afraid. Sage is working on the problem, so let's hope we see a fix soon. I've had the problem for many months now.

Blank screen on bootup

I just started experiencing this on 5.04...but only once I downgraded from Java 1.6 to 1.4 (which fixed some stuttering problems).

Has anybody seen if Sage 6 fixes this problem?

I haven't upgraded yet. Waiting for others to report their experiences with this and other bugs before i cough up the extra dough.

Is there a log of the bugs addressed in each beta release ?

I do not think that I have seen this problem with version 6 yet. I think the MVP is a little bit more responsive in version 6 too.
