DVD Burner Suggestions

I am looking to pick-up a new DVD burner for my new SageTV box. Any suggestions on certain models I can find for an affordable price?

I purchased a DVD burner from newegg.com and was very satisfied. (I don't remember the brand/model off hand.) Just drill down on their site and search for what looks good to you. I picked one up a dual-layer fast burner for under $40.00, and it works very well.

One note of consideration: Noise. My burner is VERY noisy when playing a DVD. I found that AnyDV has a drive setting that allows me to adjust the speed vs noise ratio letting me have VERY quiet playback. I'm looking to see if the manufacturer has a similar utility, because I don't want to have to rely on AnyDVD.

I have recent models of BenQ and Lite-On dual layer burners and a slightly older NEC burner. I a bit disappointed with the NEC (it has some trouble reading scratched discs), but the others work great and I think they are in the $40-$50 range.

I've found pretty good reviews of DVD drives at cdrinfo.com (warning: there are some annoying popups). Hope this helps.

I've got a Plextor that I'm happy with...they aint the cheapest however. My Plextor runs at 2x CLV when CSS disks are played, so it's silent. It can also be adjusted with the PlexTools software.

I bought a Samsung 18x DL from Newegg for ~$30 from Newegg. Excellent reader in my HTPC. I use 16x NEC burners in my desktop and work PC's.
