1 out of 4 recording drives being ignored?

I have 4 drives in my HTPC, all setup as recording drives within SageTV, all settings the same.

For some reason, on 8/16, SageTV has decided not to record any more files to this drive, even though it has the lowest percentage of used space.

Does Sage use percentage of the drive used, or what?

Two of my drives are 250GB, and two are 500GB. This particular one is one of the 250GB drives, which is about 58% full. The other drives show up as 65, 66, and 67% full, as one would expect.

I've removed it as a recording drive, within Sage, and readded it, without any changes to it's behavior. I'm tempted to remove all others, except that one, and see if Sage chokes on it, but I haven't gone that far yet...

P.S., Also thought I should point out, that there appears to be nothing wrong with the drive, as it plays videos and what not, just fine...

P.P.S., I just forced it as having that 58% full drive as the only drive, and now it is recording to that drive...very strange.

I was under the impression that Sage chooses the drive with the largest amount of absolute (not percentage) free space to record. In your case, that would make it one of your 500Gb drives. I don't know that for sure, so don't take me too seriously. Please keep us up to date on what you find out.

Aloha,
Mike

Ah, so it could just be a coincidence that my other drives line up like they do...that would make since. I guess if I put "leave 250GB" free on each of the 500GB drives, that would make it behave as I describe...but who want's 250GB of free space!?

The easiest way to find out how this should work is to check out Appendix C in the PDF manual...
