mce remote usb-uirt and sagetv
I have given up trying to get the mce ir blaster to work with sage tv so i broke down and bought a usb-uirt blaster. The setup seemed to work flawlessly but now here is the problem. When I start sagetv my mce remote is not responding. Is there a step that I missed. I installed the drivers with the usb-uirt and then installed sagetv, and now non responsive. Thanx all.

Did you go to the commands screen (under advanced setup) and assign your remote keys to the sage commands?

In the same list in the commands screen there should be another selection for showing what command is linked to the IR codes. When you press remote buttons, does this respond with the commands you assigned?

The only thing I can suggest at this point is
1. Make sure that IR support in sage is set to use the USB-UIRT (not MCE) 2. Try relearning your MCE remote keys in sage. I used to use an MCE remote with the USB-UIRT in the same configuration that you are trying to set up, so I know it can work. You can also check to make sure the MCE remote codes are actually attached to the sage commands by going through the list and looking for a long numeric code that starts with a '7' (I think) for each command. Lastly, I think you can download a helper app from the USB-UIRT website that allows you to set a few things for the USB-UIRT. If it isn't already set up this way, I'd set it to blink every time it receives a remote code (at least temporarily) just to make sure your remote is actually sending and the USB-UIRT is actually receiving. That might help just to verify that the hardware is working. Hope this helps. Aloha, Mike
