MSI Theater Pro 550 Remote Questions

This remote and receiver came with my MSI Theater Pro 550 Tuner.

In Sage under Remote Control Configuration I selected the 45 button Hauppauge remote and almost all of the buttons work, but I have the following issues:

1) The home button in the center of the remote below the stop button does nothing. I'd like it to take me to the SageTV main menu.

I've installed a number of pieces of software: Girder, Miriserver and none of them seem to recognize the button press of the home key on this remote. In Sage, there's an option under commands to show SageTV commands linked to infrared/keystroke. Same deal in that tool...I press the home button and nothing shows up.

2) I want the home button to work because once I get in the program guide, the only way to get out is to watch something, then press OK to bring up the menu, then I can select Main Menu. The home button works in MCE. (I have an MCE laptop)

3) Some of the buttons across the top work, some don't. Sleep and Close work. TV/Radio/Video/Photo/DVD Menu do not do anything.

I'd prefer not to have to buy Girder or some other software because I'm trying to build a system that I can replicate across several front ends (don't really want to drop another $50 per box).

I'm running Sage 6.0.19

Thanks,

J

Try changing Under Setup | Detailed Setup | Commands you can't miss it Link Infrared/ Keystroke to SageTV Command

Did that. Nothing shows up in the menu when I press the home key on the remote.

That isn't a Hauppauge remote. It looks more like an MCE knockoff... if it is, then try the MCE Remote setting and/or check the stickies in this forum for more MCE remote info.

The MCE configuration is REALLY bad. Most of the buttons don't work, or don't work correctly. The 45 button Hauppauge config most closely matches the buttons on the device.

And it won't.

I have a very similar remote and it also works as you mentioned. I have long since given up on the Home and other buttons that do nothing. I have no problem navigating Sage v5 using the arrow pad, OK & Back, etc buttons. What I did was use custom configuration and setup all the buttons that Sage would recognize. Some do what they are supposed to and others do not. You need to systematically go through all of them.
