Remote not repeating when pressed

I'm getting a real annoying problem. When I press my remote button it doesn't repeat. For example to go down my music one by one I have to push the down button multiple times, each time I push it, it goes down by only 1 song. What I want to do is hold the down button and have it scroll through the songs automatically..... I'm using USB UIRT, and I see the USB UIRT flashing like crazy when I hold the button down, but nothing happens.

Has anyone seen this problem or know how to fix it?! I checked out my properties file and the infrared_receive_* settings look good. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

What remote are you using with the USB-UIRT? Some remotes use alternating codes or a different code altogether for the repeat.

Aloha,
Mike

Simple answer - check your batteries.

EDIT: Never mind - I see you said your USB-UIRT is flashing. but still, might be worth a look.

Hi,

I have this exact problem. I always figured it was a limitation of the usbuirt and/or sage. We use the same universal remote (Home Theater Master MX-700) for our sat receiver and it scrolls through/repeats just fine. Any tips on getting this to work with sage would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Jesse

You could try playing with the:

infrared_receive_repeat_delay
infrared_receive_repeat_period

properties file entries.

I have an MX 700 and you just need to use a different device's codes to allow for repeat then retrain the Sage remote mappings. I've noticed most of the sat box remote codes seem to have repeats.

I'm using the remote that came with my Tivo system. On Tivo I'm able to scroll down by just hitting the down button, would they have something propietary to their system? I also tried setting infrared_receive_repeat_delay
infrared_receive_repeat_period, with no luck.

I know this is a really old thread but I am having the exact same problem with a Tivo remote. Did anyone ever find a solution?
