It's one thing when you're testing a beta and find bugs and report them. That's what beta testers do. I don't expect a perfect release and so I don't get upset when I hit a bug. It would be silly to be upset during a beta. Now when they released it I eagerly downloaded and installed it expecting it to work since I reported the bug, others had as well and because it seemed to be a fairly common bug I assumed it was fixed. To my surprise and dismay it wasn't even addressed, they released this thing with the IMO MAJOR show stopper bug for HD playback. As your post indicates I believe they were under pressure to release and had hoped the bug reported was only going to hit a small number of us, it seems it is not such a small number now. To be honest, I have expected for quite some time to log-in and find a new version posted that fixes this issue, and I'm still waiting. One thing about a version upgrade, you expect the previous features to work as they did in the past and when it doesn't I believe we have a right to complain. You don't break old stable features to add some new ones in. Still I'm sure we don't number as many users who have no problems, but we are growing in number. I'd bet if more users had HD gear there would be more reports. My SD playback is fine, looks great and I'm happy with it. HD now is much better, yet not as good as it was in V5. |
