Vista Self inflicted wound Kinda
Ok i found out why i had problems with my vista migration. It seems that i had setup and copied over my old drive to my new drive under Partition magic and let it setup the master boot record etc.. Which Vista had no problems with while it was setup on a second logical drive as a multi boot system.
But when i installed the final retail release onto the main partition as the main OS it suddenly had problems with the drive. I was able to get back my files but I wasn't able to get the System to work right even through reinstalls until I replaced the master boot record and repartitioned the drive with an MS Dos fdisk from a windows boot disk. After that Vista worked without any problems at all and everything was fine.
Just wanted to share that and say FYI if you have used another partitioning program other than Dos or XP to setup your drive you may have problems if you don't reset it up with a partiton program vista likes.
Just wanted to share that with the others so they can avoid the same DOH moment i had.
