AC3 Audio in MPGs?

I had overlapping record time slots for shows that I wanted, so I pulled out the old DVD/VHS recorder to record some shows directly off the cable, then converted the VRO (same as VOB?) directly to mpg for playback using VideoReDo. ShowAnalyzer handled finding commercials just fine, but when I tried to play the mpg file in Sage I have no audio? I tried the file in other media players (Zoom Player, Win Media Player, and Nero ShowTime) and it played just fine -- so I finally just used the vprj file generated by ShowAnalyzer with VideoReDo (again) to cut out the commecials and watched the file in Zoom player.

But the only thing that I see in this mpg is that the audio is AC3 instead of MPEG? Can SageTV not handle AC3 audio in mpg files? Or, is this a bug in the latest release?

EDIT: I found that I could have had VideoReDo convert the audio to Mpeg. Will do it that way in the future.

Have you tried using the AC3FILTER?

SageTV supports AC3 audio streams in MPEG files. There may be an issue with your audio decoder filter configuration.

AC3filter is installed. So are several other possibilites:

It will play fine in all of my other media players:
nero showtime
zoom player
windows media player
It even plays in the virtual dub version hacked to handle mpg files.
