We'll probably not know a darn thing about it until either the day of or just after the rollout. If my server can't handle transcoding to the MVP I'm going to have to press a spare system into service and hope it can handle HD via RGB. WAF will surely be mixed at best. Maybe a bluetooth KB/mouse will help. HDHR should be on my doorstep friday

My system is very close to yours 3200+, etc....
HD and transcoding is definately pushing the limits. Transcoding to the MVP works fine, assuming the system is not doing much else. If I am recording in HD and transcoding to an MVP at the same time, I get very mixed results...usually some stuttering and sound problems. I can also record 2 HD shows at once without much problem and can play one of those shows to the main TV, but not transcode while recording. My main system was having HD problems until I upgraded the video card to a 6600 GT OC...This help tremendously with the main system. Playing HD went from 100% CPU down to 25% CPU. Of course this does not have any thing to do with the MVP. Just know your system will be pushed to the limit... Gary Ellis |

I've been following this thread for some time now and noticed there hasn't been a post in several weeks.
1. Is there any update? 2. Does SageTV have any near term plans to support HD media extenders?

Isn't there some saying like "Hope is the last to abandon" something...?
I'm relying in artificial respiration on this HD-subject right now... |
