blaster NO work
hi
So i just built my pvr and am having much trouble with the blaster it works with the config tool and i have go it to work entirely with beyond tv (which uses so much cpu while doing nothing im amazed) i have also tried gbpvr which crashes when i hit the OK button after configuring source anyway i like sagetv's interface better but when i tell it to record ..not only does it not change the channel at all it records static too ( which is to say it does not know which channel [in this case channel 4] it is supposed to be on) my real question is where to do i configure and test the blaster within sagetv interface..it seems to have no option for that Thx in advance p.s. there was a prob at first in that i did not install blaster app before sagetv but i have uninstalled sagetv and gbpvr etc ....then installed blaster cfg app (which might i note, had the wrong code WTF..but i figured it out) and now the cfg tool can change channel fine..and beyondTv can use it fine also |

If you are using a set-top box that requires channel changing via the IR Blaster- In the Sage UI- navigate to Setup-Setup Video Sources Select the tuner that is connected to the particular input. Here you should be able to see the IR control options including learing IR codes etc. If you do not have a set-top box and use the coax cable/RF input directly to your TV tuner, you have no need to setup the IR Blaster.

Since this was a repeat question from another thread, I believe you are using a PVR-150 & its blaster. You have to configure that blaster via the Hauppauge IR Blaster config utility. Once configured, leave the IR software running, then set up your source in SageTV & choose the Hauppauge blaster wehn asked what tuner plugin to use.
If the source is connected via coax, but you need it to tune to channel 4, then be sure to choose the TV tuner input along with the option to use an external receiver. - Andy
