Com Skip with MVP?
Does ComSkip work with the Media MVP? Which utility? (For now I'm strictly SD)
Thanks, Steve MVP with Sage rules by the way. |

Yes it works.
I'm using the SageMC 16X9 version....comskips without a problem. There are some other comskip playback STVi imports available for download in the download section if you want to retain original UI on the MVP. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I've installed comskip wondering...
How do I get it set up to automatically run once a show has completed? (Does it need to complete recording before comskip can run?)
Thanks, Steve |

In a quick summary for Show Analyzer, if you purchase the license and get access to the built-in decoder, SA is capable of processing the video AS it is being recorded (otherwise it must wait until the video is complete). You can setup dirmon to handle any number of simultaneous calls to SA, but I tend to leave it to one show at a time or things tend to get slow.

Comskip can process shows as they are being recorded too. I would encourage you to check out both and Comskip Monitor.

Thanks to
Steep and Erik for their fine work.
Thanks also to bc, Fidgety, Angel and Naln for responding to me. I got everything working. Also changed to the latest Sage MC. Way cool! For now I'm using ComSkip with Monitor. Seems to be working great. I set it to run slow except 1AM to 7AM where it can run normal. I've got a 2 year old emachines w/ Celeron chip and have no problems (as of now). I had BTV and loved it, but the PQ drove me nuts (sent S-Video cable from best graphics card I could get into my machine to my TV. My machine only has PCI slot, no AGP or PCIe). Once I got the Media MVP and saw the PQ, I switched to Sage and have never looked back. That everything works through the MVP is the bomb! Steve |
