out of disk space - what happens?
Can someone inform me how SageTV handles running out of disk space? If you aren't deleting any recordings and after a while, recordings are filling up the hard drive, what does SageTV do?
Do you lose any recordings? Does SageTV warn you or? I am just curious. I plan to buy a large drive (400 or 500 GB) but I was wondering how SageTV handles running out of disk space. I think I read that you can stop livetv recordings if you want but if you had it constantly recording, you would eventually run out of disk space. If you were scheduling recordings until you were near the point of running out of disk space, something has to happen. I am wondering how SageTV works regarding that situation. Thanks. |

Disk space management and auto-deletion of files to make space for new recordings is discussed in Appendix C of the PDF manual, found in your SageTV directory.
If SageTV is unable to delete any recordings according to those rules, then it will not be able to create any new recordings. - Andy

Sage searches your HD for a credit card # then auto orders a new, larger HD for you

I had to go and look! You really have provided this answer in the FAQ!
Has anyone written a plugin yet that checks on the contents of the fridge and re-orders beer when it runs out?
