How do I wake my computer from standby mode.

I currently use a mediamvp. I normally leave my computer running all the time so I can access it through the mvp. I would like to be able to suspend my computer and wake it up when I want to use the MVP. Is there anyway to get the MVP to wake up the computer. My computer supports wake on lan, but I don't think MVP/Sage software does?
Any suggestions or even a work around?

Unfortunately the mvp does not support WOL. Not yet at least.

I agree with you that it would be very nice if the mvp could send an WOL command to wake up the server. Eg when you hit the home button on the remote. And not very difficult to implement i believe. The original Hauppauge software can do it.

Lets hope Sage one day listens to our prayers

Is anybody out there using a work around effectively?
Would a firefly remote work, for nothing else but to atleast wake up the computer... or for that matter, a wireless mouse (although I think their ranges are extremely short)?

kludge:

X10 sender, say, PalmPad or one that plugs into the wall

X10 Universal Module - it has a relay dry-contact closure output. That can connect to the PC's ATX power switch - which is low voltage. Bridge it on at the motherboard header pins.

I know an MCE remote can wake up the PC. You could use an RF remote to ir blast an MCE dongle. I am using a Harmony 890 for RF which works with an MCE dongle attached to my PC.
