I was just pointing it out because, some people in this forum seem to be hard up about getting HDTV PVR stuff going on.

Am I missing something? I read the description and the specs, and all I see is a device that lets you show pictures on your TV. Not very impressive. It is not a hard disk recorder, since it has no hard drive. So it cannot function as an HDTV PVR, let alone an NTSC PVR. This does nothing that a standard PC with a VGA to Component transcoder can't do. Furthermore, most plasmas and LCD HDTVs already come with VGA inputs.

Umm, read the title of the topic "HD Frontend" This device would be able to do anything a client could do. Pictures, Video, Audio, LiveTV, and with no loud fans because the server is connected over the network. Oh, and it's linux and open source based, so PVR is possible for it This could be setup just like the Media MVP is going to be when Dan and Jeff release the Sage Client for it.

I am not sure I see the advantages this unit has vs. the Media MVP for 1/5 the price - at least when you talk about using it for a possible SageClient?

What loud fans ? People that make comments like this make me wonder ..

My HTPC is 3.0c P4 w 1gig ram, 2 sata HD's, a ATI 9800ProAIW, you dont get much more heat in a box then that, and my htpc is SILENT .. not "nearly" silent but silent .. i have 2 fans in the entire case, 1 is a 120mm fan in the power supply that spins at 1000rpm and is inaudible. The cpu fan equally produces 0 noise (rated at 18db below our ability to hear) i have no video fan no motherboard fan no hd fans ..

It is all about proper use of components

mikbro the big advantages over MediaMVP is that the Roku HD1000 OS is Internet unlike the MediaMVP and other which use an External OS.
