Service Mode Issue
I installed V6 from a clean install of XP. I cannot get service mode to function correctly.
I have 2 PVR250s: 1 using S-Video, the other using Composite. I can use service mode as long as the S-Video source is not set up in Sage. As soon as I add it as a source my CPU Usage for Sage Service gets stuck at 100% and everything in Sage (moving between menus, watching LiveTV, etc) slows down to a crawl. I cannot change channels using my USB-Uirt to control my cable box. If I close the Sage app the CPU usage still stays at 100%. Rebooting does nothing. The only way I can get my CPU usage down is to remove the source OR not use the SageTV service. If I open up Sage (not using the Sage service) I can use both sources just fine and everything works great. V5 worked perfectly fine. I do not understand why adding the second source causes the Sage service to bomb. Anyone have any ideas? |

The service works fine, as long as just that source isn't added & the other source(s) work? The standard thing to do would be to enable debug logging to see what the log contains.
The v6.1 beta is getting pretty close to being done. If you want to try that, the beta forum has a sticky thread explaining how to save the current installation so you can revert back to it if you want to. - Andy

Hauppauge driver issue? Hm, have you tried running reg clear and reinstalling the drivers?

No, I havent tried reinstalling although I have thought about it. Its just weird that it would work when its not in service mode, which leads me to wonder if its not something else other than a driver issue.

On a side note, I'm also having issues with tuner prioritizing. I need the tuner that I'm using to control my STB (which is the tuner that needs to be disabled if I use service mode) to have a lower priority than my other tuner, so I set the merit on my STB tuner to 0, and my other tuner to 1. When I do this, I can no longer use my STB since Sage doesn't change its channels. If I swap the merits both work fine.
