SageMC Theme: Foofaraw (v1.2 10/17/2007)

This is a complete theme for SageMC that is based on the graphics for the popular Media Portal theme "Foofaraw". All graphics from that theme are used with the permission of the author, and the location of the original theme and author supported discussion can be found HERE.

The selection bar graphics, show icons, and a few other items are based on and borrowed from the Liquid Theme created by MeInMaui. A Special Thanks to him for all his help in creating and customizing some of his graphics for use with this theme.

The download includes two versions of the theme, with the only difference being the colors of the selection bars. The standard Foofaraw Theme has Green selection bars and the FoofarawBlue theme has, of course, blue selection bars. If another color is desired, the selection bars from MeInMaui's Liquid Theme Alternate Graphics pack can be used. However, if you choose this option, this theme does not use the same type of selection arrows, so, you will need to modify them yourself to match or use a different option like those included in the standard Liquid theme.

The Colored Guide bars from the Liquid theme are included, but I did not get a chance to customize them to match the rest of this theme. Personally, I beleive the guide looks best without them turned on, but play with the option and see which you prefer. Another option is to use the new guide coloring option built into SageMC 6.3.5 which looks pretty good IMO.

Hope you like it,

grooves12

2. Extract the files included in the download archive to the SageTV installation folder.
3. Select "Foofaraw" or "FoofarawBlue" from the "Settings > Select Theme" Menu

Optional: Add any desired alternate graphics to the Foofaraw or FoofarawBlue folder (Show Icons go in the ShowIcons subfolder, all others go in the main folder.)
Version History:

v1.0
Initial Release
v1.01
Minor Directory Structure changes (placed the Encoder Markers in the proper location and renamed some subdirectories to make installation of optional graphics clearer.)

v1.1
- Theme has been reorganized to be compatible with SageMC 6.34
- Alternate backgrounds have been included and can be changed using the option to do so in settings section of SageMC. Personally, I like the "Black Aurora" background.
- Some minor graphical changes were included to make the theme more visually appealing, especially when used with animations and/or alternate backgrounds.

v1.2
- Theme structure has been reorganized using the new features of version 6.3.5.
It is no longer necessary to create a new copy of the theme or overwrite the selection bars with the alternate version if you wish to use a different color. It uses the parent theme setting so that duplicate files are kept to a minimum for a smaller file size footprint.

well--i've been using this steady for a few days now. Ive made it my primary theme at the moment. Haven't decided if I like the default background or the black one from liquid yet. Anyway--i really like the orange/red recording icon and the rest of the menu icons. I did have to change the color of the guide text (only the text shown in future airings). It was too grey and made it hard to read. I just mimicked what was on the current airings text--white and that made it easier to read. That's about it- Oh ya--blue selection bars over the green ones any day (but its nice to have the option)
Thanks!!
Juc

Really like it with the blue bars, but noticed I don't have an Icon for My Menu. Wouldn't happen to have one that matches the rest of the theme would you?

Nope... no icons except those included in the theme. You can rename or better, copy one of the icons from the existing theme to fit in that place though.

That's exactly what I did for the Movie Times plugin... I have it as the "custom1" menu, soI copied the Videos icon, and named it hover_custom1.png and it shows up fine for that menu.

BTW: It looks like you were opening Sage.properties.defaults. You want to edit Sage.properties.

There is no sage.properties anywhere, is it anything to do with it being a trial version?

If you are using Vista, it is stored somewhere else... but you'll either need to search the forum or someone else will have to say where it is located, since I don't have Vista.

I like the looks of this. Do I need to install SageMC first or can I just use this?
BTW what's the difference between SageTV & SageMC does SageMC require Windows media center or will it work with XP?
