EPG Update schedule all over the place
I keep changing the sage.properties file to do the update at around 8pm but every other day it updated at random times (4am, 4pm, 10pm, whatever) so the schedule is messed up because the next update is 24hours after that.
This really causes a problem because for some reason, several of my channels come up with No Data if the EPG update occurs before the actual update of the xml (I am importing data from a TV guid website that imports it into Sage). What can I do to stabilize this? I'm going nuts setting the update time back all the time. |

Are you using multiple lineups? If so, they would each have their own update time. If you are have been manually changing the properties file to force a specific update time, you'll need to do that for each EPG lineup. And, be sure to edit sage.properties when SageTV and the service are not running.
If that isn't it, then have you been enabling or disabling any Channel Setup? That would tell it to do an EPG update. - Andy

I have only one lineup. Can I check the file to make sure Sage isn't thinking I have more than one somehow?
I do change a channel to force update whenever things are out of line again and I don't want to edit the file, but not this time. It says last update was somewhere last night, about 4 am and I am sure it wasn't me who did this |

* update the channel list * change the time in the properties file * have some error during the XMLTV Import (so that the Import fail) SageTV is pretty on time regarding EPG update. If you really want to get rid of epg update time problems, you can do this : * Install the Web Server plugin (this will provide a way to force EPG update through a web browser) * Install my XMLTV Importer and configure it to use the Web Server plugin to force the update when the data is ready to be loaded into SageTV. As my Importer does the XMLTV data conversion outside the SageTV process and can launch your XMLTV grabber before doing the conversion : you really don't care that SageTV will update at any time it wants (it will just reload the old data already produced by my Importer). However when my Importer has finished processing new data, it will tell SageTV to load it now by using the Web Server plugin. Regards, Stéphane. |
