Can I get Digital Cable and Dish Network on 1 Sage Box? If so, how??

I have one box with a PVR-250 and a Radeon 9200. Currently I have it hooked up through my cable box and everything seems to be working cool. I also have a Dish Network service. The reason is for international channels which Comcast does not offer for me. Is there anyway to have that also hooked up to the machine? I thought about an "A,B" switch but the Guide wouldnt work properly. I'd like to have them both in the one box without getting anything extra. Is this possible? Thanks.

Don't think so. Another 250 would be required to do that properly - but that would break your not want to get anything extra rule .

You could hook the analog cable to the RF input of the 250 and the Dish Net box up to the S-vid/audio in.

Although I should mention that will only get you your analog channels, but it's easier only dealing with one box.

OK stupid question. Say I have them both hooked up to the 250 card, then how do I setup Sage? How would my guide work also? I'm still confused on the setup and how Sage would understand 2 inputs.

AFAIK Sage sees each input on the 250 as a seperate source so you just run the setup wizard once for each source (S-vid/RF). Sage can then schedule recordings on from either and is smart enough to know it can only use one at a time. You can make sure Sage records from the right source my making sure each channel is only enabled for the source (Dish/Cable) you want it recorded from.

OK thank you. Can anyone confirm this? My box is in my entertainment center and would like to confirm I can do this before I start pulling it all out and getting it hooked up.

I'll confirm that SageTV supports multiple sources. Just make sure you don't have any overlapping channels, i.e multiple NBCs, ESPNs,etc.

So is there a reason why my cable has to be analog as opposed to the out from the digital cable box? Is it that Sage can't recognize 2 digital inputs? Still haven't gotten around to doing it just yet but I would like to have the Dish Network and Comcast Digital Cable both hooked up without getting anything extra.

I think you could connect one box via s-vid and the other thru composite.
