Will this method work to rebuild my Sage box?

I originally built my Sage server on a lark using a second PC that I also used for many other things. I've since found that I'm using Sage so much I'd like to do a clean install on the same PC, and eliminating all the clutter and remanents of apps gone by.

Can I simply copy the Sage folders to a safe spot, rebuild the PC (WinXP), install Sage using the same paths, then copy my previous Sage folders back over the top of it and presumably get all my configuration back? The recordings themselves are on another HD.

Just Don't forget to reboot so Sage will see the changes. I did this last night and it worked fine.

what if you wanted to do a clean install but you don't have your original sagetv folder but you do have the recordings. Is there a way to reintegrate the recordings back into the fresh install

You at least need a copy of the old wiz.bin database file, or all the recordings will become imported videos.
