Can't play VCD disks?

Hello,

I am trying to play a VCD disk (made it with Nero) using Sage6.
No luck.Tried it using "Media Center" -> "Play DVD".
It works fine with any other DVD player, but not from SAGE.
I tried running it via Microsof media player, by selecting the *.dat file. works perfect.

I went into the properties file and added *.dat files into the list of ext for video files.
Still not working.

I constently get a mesasge from SAGE saying that the disk is not a DVD disk (daaaaa).

so, the question is if there is a way to play VCD disks via SAGE6?

The only way I coudl get a vcd to play was to go into the media center, then the imported videos. You should see an option for select media file to play, so that you can search local drives and etc for a file. Then go into your vcd dvd drive and select the .dat file ( I think it is the .dat one), basically the only file you can playback. It takes a few seconds, but then loads up.

Give that a try until someone can make an actual player for sage

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same question and have not been able to find anything on this subject except this existing thread.......



I have a bunch of VCD disks that I would like to add to the video library, but Sage will not play back the disks. Yes I know, I can playback the .dat file. This loses the menu (yes there are VCD menus) and does not properly playback the video. Disks with music videos (alot of 2-6 min videos) are near impossible to navigate (which is most of my VCDs)....
