how do I bring back TV recordings?
I just did a fresh install of windows and sagetv.
I backed up tv recording files and put them in same directory but Sagetv does not see them! How can I force sagetv to list them in recordings? Thanks, Ray |

copy your backed up copy of wiz.bin over the new wiz.bin in your sagetv folder.
edit: if you don't have your old wiz.bin, then you really can't bring back your old recordings as "real" recordings. YOu can use nielm's webserver to add the old recordings in a sorta hack way and they will be shown as recordings. However, they will be added in in a way that doesn't match the new wiz.bin format so they won't track the same way. Watched status won't be correct, and they could be re-recorded. If you were using nielm's xml generator, you may be able to do automate some of the importing, but the wiz.bin data will still be off.

That is the most important file in the system. I have a script set up to backup my important Sage files daily and keep the last 10 copies. I got the script off the forum.

If you really want them to show up in recordings then you need to install nielm's webserver, http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8426 . Using the webserver, you can manually add them to your wiz.bin file and then they will show up in recordings, and can be moved to Archive, but they won't exactly match up with your new recordings.
