2006 was a good year....

Hello all,

I am using xmltv with multiple lineups. Two of the xml files are created by xmltv2mtepg (the epg files are from mytheatre). This small piece of software doesn't seem to be supported by the author anymore.

It has a small bug because it puts the date for all movies as: 20060101. As a result, Sage's epg shows all movies are from 2006. At first, I was quite impressed that 2006 produced so many movies ;-)

I took a look at the xml file that sage uses and it gives the following:
Code:
<date>20060101</date>
</programme>
<programme start="20070808040000 +0100" stop="20070808054500 +0100" channel="C5061.www.mtepgdplu.com">
<title lang="fr">The Bachelor</title>
<length units="minutes">105</length>
<desc lang="fr">PG-13(L) * - Movie. Chris O'Donnell, Renee Zellweger, Hal Holbrook. (1999) A man learns he will inherit $100 million only if he marries before his 30th birthday, 27 hours away. (CC) (Stereo)</desc>
<rating system="advisory">
<value>Language</value>
</rating>
<rating system="MPAA">
<value>PG-13</value>
</rating>
<star-rating>
<value>1/5</value>
</star-rating>
<category lang="fr">Movie</category>
As you can see the real year (1999) is included in the description. A simple solution would be to do a search and remove all 20060101 and then at least 2006 wouldn't appear next to the title.

I wish I had some programming skills. I was wondering if there was a way to have some sort of scraper delete 20060101 and replace it with the real year?

It is the sort of thing that would be technically possible with tv_grep...

But the XML as listed above is not well-formed (the elements of the programme have to be in a specific order according to the DTD) , so is not actually parseable by the XMLTV tools...

IIRC no, the order is also enforced somewhere in the XMLTV code...
