Controlling cable box question
I noticed that on my cable box, it has a usb connection. Is there anyway to control the channels via the usb cable? I'm just thinking of ways not needing to spend the money on the UIRT. That is a lot of money for something that appears to be so basic. If not, what other options are available to controling a cable box for a MVP?
Thanks for all the help. |

AFAIK, the only non-IR solutions are serial or firewire tuning. Look for a serial port or a firewire (IEEE-1394) port on the cable box.
