Live TV Pauses switching programs
I have been trying to track this down as to what is going on. Check out my signature for my configuration. I have a gigabit network hooked up between them. Whenever a program changes for example on the 30 min mark or whenever the next show is to start playing I get a 20-30 second pause with the spinning Circle on the client. Once it tunes to the next program I can then rewind and watch what was missed. from what I am seeing it looks like the server is capturing everything just fine it is just my client having a hard time switching. Any ideas on settings I can change to get this working better?

Can you test if it also happens if you run it directly from the server?

when I am playing directly from the server there is no lag at all between program changes. The problem is worse if I am watching a live HD show.
TIA, Jayson

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm using Sage Linux 6.2 on the server and Sage Client 6.2 Windows on the client PC. If I use placeshifter (on windows) or an extender than the channel changes are fine. Also if I try and setup up the tuning on the server using the windows client very few channels are picked up however, using placeshifter or the extender it picks up the channels fine.
Neil PS. I'm using a PCI DVB-T capture card |
