Sage lost the USB-UIRT

I had a sound issue recently (see other post) and in trying to fix it I did several restores to prior Windows XP restore points, and ended up reinstalling 6.1.9 and then reinstalling 6.2.10.. Anyway, in all the messing around with it Sage stopped communicating with the USB-UIRT blaster. I reinstalled the blaster with no luck. The blaster is working fine for girder, but Sage can't find it. I tried removing the source using the blaster and reinstalling, but Sage can't seem to see that it is installed, it only gives me the option of serial controller with DTV box. When I looked at the affected sources properties sage 6.2.10 listed it as controlled by a USB-UIRT, when I clicked on it there Sage just crashed to desktop.

I am not in service mode.

Any ideas how to get Sage to find the blaster?

Thanks!

Kimper,

That's a strange problem. If you recovered your computer to a previous image when the USB-UIRT was working, it should work with SageTV. Since the USB-UIRT works with Girder, it sounds like the USB-UIRT is good and the USB port is also probably good. Could it be a conflict between the USB-UIRT and Girder?

You might try using IRHELPER.EXE, a stand alone program that will tell you what the USB-UIRT is receiving. Perhaps you could test it with and without Girder installed.

Thanks for the advice. I fixed it though.

Apparently sage.properties or wiz.bin was corrupted.
I uninstalled, deleted all directories and started over fresh.

Oh well, I am sure I was due since I have been installing one version on top of another for years now.

All back to normal minus my favorites and recordings and such
