Why is Studio disabled in trial?
I wanted to make sure that commercial skip, auto compress, etc all work flawlessly before purchasing.

YOu don't need Studio to test the plugins. Studio is so that you can create your own modifications.
the plugins should work fine during the the trial.

I can't seem to get them installed then. I go into setup, advanced and import the stvi files but nothing new appears.
I've tried comskip monitor, autocompress, weather, google calendar, but nothing new appears in any menus even after I restart the pc. I then tried the MovieTimes plugin and that's what told me to go into Studio. |

I just set up a test sagetv box in virtualPC just to reconfirm that you can import plugins during the trial. I could install Comskip playback and see that it imported in the setup.
SO, lets start from hte basics. I don't use autocompress, weather or google calender so I don't know the specifics on installs for them. However, to comskip, you need to install Comskip Playback in Sage to get it to work. If you unpacked the rar file correctly, when you went to import the stvi, you shouldn't have needed to navigate any folders up/down to find the .stvi. If you installed the .stvi, then you should see proof of it in a couple spots. One place is in Setup>detailed setup>Customize>Comskip options. Another place is if you bring up the options menu during playback, there should be a comskip option in there. Comskip Monitor is a separate piece of software you need to generate the comskip files. It is not installed in Sage, just on the Sage computer. edit: doing some more research, you mentioned Google calender. That is an import for the SageMC replacement UI, not the default UI. Are you using SageMC? And if you are using SageMC, you don't need to import any comskip plugins, SageMC has it built-in, you just need the monitor to scan the recording folders to rigger comskip. And which Weather import? why? there are built-in weather modules in the default UI and SageMC.

Thanks!
I was finally able to find the ComSkip and AutoCompress settings. All the others want me to launch Studio to create the links to launch them it seems. ComSkip ran last night but AutoCompress hasn't done anything yet. I'll post in that thread for that issue. |

Movietimes can be added without studio using my customisable menu plugin (add a new internal screen for MovieTimes Main)
