Help with Satellite and dual 1600s

I've got a 1600 controlling a Dish Network 322 and using SageTV everything works great. I love having a HTPC. The wife and I now want the ability to record one channel and watch another live. I think I understand that I will need other satellite receiver box, a 311 should do, one more line drop from the satellite (no problem), and another Hauppauge card. I like the 1600 and I'll need a card to control the receiver so I thought another 1600 would fit the bill, but I just don't understand how this all would work together.

First, do I understand the need for an additional satellite receiver box right in order to record one channel and watch another?

Second, how does SageTV handle two cards with IR blasters, if it can at all? Does this get all sorted out on it own during the source set up process in Sage?

Third, if I have to plug in the IR receiver/IR blaster into the second card to control the second satellite receiver is this going to cause any problems?

Do I even need to have the second IR receiver out for the 45 button remote if I have one already plugged into the first 1600?

Am I missing anything here? Does anyone else have a similar setup?

I'm probably just over think this, but I'm new at this stuff. I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

The Hauppauge cards/drivers only support using a single card's IR receiver/blaster. That's all you need for the remote, but if you need another blaster, you'll probably need to look into something like the USB-UIRT or see if serial control is possible for the box.
