Thumbs up My Comments on SageTV...

SageTV Employees and Developers,

I have had SageTV now since the begining of this past September. I purchased SageTV because I had previously been using Open Source/Free PVR products, and since Zap2It was discontinuing its services for these Open Source/Free Products I decided to look at other options.

Ironically SageTV was the first and ONLY licensed product that I actually evaluated. I was testing things out and making sure it provided what I was looking for, when it occured to me that not only did it provide what I was looking for in a PVR package, it far surpassed my expectations.

I have to admit that buying SageTV for $79.95 was Absolutely Worth It.

I'm a System Engineer that has Multiple Sclerosis and is now on Disability, so having things work with ease is very important. SageTV makes things so easy to do. I don't miss any shows, video quality is Wonderful, and a nice little extra was the $10 spent on ShowAnalyzer for Commercial Skipping too.

Program runs smooth. I don't have any stuttering in the video. No program lock ups either.

Previously I was using GB-PVR and Meedio. I guess they were nice little projects and good to use when Zap2it was available. But I've found Stability and Reliability with SageTV and I can't see myself ever looking at another PVR package again.

Now if the SageTV Wireless Media Extender would become available, and a disability check would be available around the same time, Life would be Sweet.

So, excellent job on SageTV. Wonderful product. Keep up the execellent work. Thank you very much, SageTV has made life a little better being in the house almost all the time.

Respectuflly,

Ian Sullivan

The wireless extender is a rebranded Hauppauge Wireless MediaMVP and is available now from other vendors such as pcalchemy.com:

Wireless MVP
SageTV MVP license

I love my SageTV PVR build.

After a bit, it was easy to setup. Now it is effortless.

I am sharing the drive I keep the videos on and can watch from any computer in the house on the network. Totally cool!

When I was looking, everyone was telling me to go linux and open software. It just seemed too hard to setup.

One friend suggested SageTV and I am appreciative to him!
