New dual tuner coming for Macs from ATI

http://www.tuaw.com/2007/11/14/ati-t...combo-for-mac/

This looks like a winner for Mac media centers running SageTV! Now the question... will it blend? ... er, I mean, will it be supported by Sage?

I'm also very interested in this tuner. I'd like to buy one tuner that has hardware acceleration and can do atsc and qam HD rather than the winTv pvr tuner that can only do SD. Any thoughts on this? I wouldn't mind testing the ATI tuner but I'm not much of a programmer so if it doesn't work I'm not sure if i'd be able to fix it.

On a related note does the new mac version of sage support the HD extender? I can't really seem to find a clear answer.

I've also been looking into a dual tuner with HD and ClearQam support...the best solution I've found is Silicon Dust's HD Homerun (which is also now supported by EyeTV). From reading on the forums I've noted that the hardware is the exact same whether it is sold by Elgato or Silicon Dust and it is supported by the Windows version of Sage. I found this thread and hopefully the HD Homerun will be supported sooner rather than later!

It is supported on all three platforms. Mac users will need the 6.4 beta.
