Richard Dawkins - Root of All Evil

I am a big Richard Dawkins fan. He had a BBC special called The Root of All Evil. I thought it was great.

He finally released it on DVD : http://richarddawkins.net/store/inde...&products_id=6

If you don't want to pay, I also highly recommened the google video versions! They are like 40 minutes for each part, but very worth the watch.

Root of All Evil Part 1

Root of All Evil Part 2

I bought the DVD because I wanted to watch on a big screen, not my monitor. The web version seems to have more content.

Watch with an objective mind and let me know what you think.

I think it's brilliant. Don't see it on Netflix, though.

I consider myself a scientist and have always questioned figures purporting to tell me facts. My father is a Pastor in a more forward-thinking church and generally takes the bible to be more of a story book than a text book. (Props to Pops, btw) I showed him the article from Wired called The Church of the Non-Believers (also Dawson-centric). After reading, he admitted that there are some that adamantly claim to follow the word of God but rarely do they pass any kind of test to that claim and that they ruin it for all the others. I told him that if these groups don't get control over themselves, there is no good end. Pointing out their religion's short-comings is one way to combat blind faith. It makes them ask the ever-so-important question "why?" which challenges their foundation. Something everyone should do from time to time.

Eh, what the hey. Ordered two sets. One for me, one to "spread the word" so to speak

Ah cool! I don't think it will be on Netflix, maybe too controversial (maybe) - who know, they still like to make money at Netflix.

Enjoy, I know I did. Also, just FYI the Google video one has more video than the DVD version.
