Where is the DVD Library functionality?

I've read in several places that there is a DVD Libary functionality in Sage Media Center, but I can't seem to find out where it is or how to get it.

Where is the idiot's guide to SageTV? There seems to be a plethora of information in this forum, but there is no wiki or good documentation that I can find...

If you mean in the default STV: there is a PDF manual that can be downloaded before installation, or it can be found in your SageTV install dir. Appendix I shows how SageTV uses hard drive based DVDs; that appendix also has a link to the Video Browser section on p. 88 for the v6.3 manual, wher you will find the DVDs listed.

If you are using a custom STV or are looking for more DVD info in the UI than that, you should check the customizations section of this forum.

Your best bet in my opinion is the SageMC 16x9 interface. Once you have SageTV installed, head over to the customizations section of the forum (as Opus mentioned). Don't be intimidated by the complexity, just read as much as you can as you go in the forums. SageMC does a decent job with the Movie Library although I don't like it as well as Beyond Media's DVD Library. It's good enough that the integration and other features available in Sage made me happy to switch though.

There is tons of good documentation, but I'll agree much of whats here takes for granted some stuff that isn't as easy for the new user at first. Much of the confusion happens because of the major changes/improvements added with the user-directed addons etc. As I said before, don't let it discourage you - it's worth it.

I'm actually documenting my switch from BTV to SageTV (and SageMC) and hope to have the first part of that out next week if all goes well. I'll PM you some useful (hopefully) info for you in the meantime.
