Clock is off (Java 1.6, no DST problem)
Hi!
I'm currently evaluating SageTV for my homeserver together with the Placeshifter client. I like the software so far, but I have a problem with the clock only in the Placeshifter client being off by 6 hours. - Connecting from my laptop with the Client to my homeserver shows the correct time - Connecting from my laptop with Placeshifter to my homeserver (local network) shows the time off by 6 hours - Connecting on the server's desktop with SageTV client to the server was off by 6 hours, I modified the sagetv.properties with "time_zone=GMT+1" and it now works. - Connecting with Placeshifter remote to my homeserver shows also the clock off by 6 hours. My laptop and my homeserver both have the current JRE 1.6_03, my laptop uses Windows Vista. I edited placeshifter.properties on my laptop and also added "time_zone=GMT+1" but it has no effect. Is there a way to get this working? Else I can't use SageTV for my needs, because the EPG is unuseable. |

I would doublecheck to make sure your server is using Java 1.6; did you uninstall the old versions of Java from your server after upgrading? You can also verify that Sage is using the correct version by going to the System Information page under Setup-->Help-->System Information using the default UI.
Also, most placeshifter properties live on the server; look in the SageTV directory for a client folder, and you should have a properties file that corresponds to your laptops MAC address. HTH, Stu |

Make sure your time zone in windows is set properly on all machines.

Thanks for your answers.
Unfortunately, it doesn't help me. JRE on the server is definately correct, because I had to download and install it when I installed SageTV. It it 1.6. I doublechecked Java version on my laptop, too. The tip with the client's properties files is also nice, I didn't know that. I added time_zone=GMT+1, rebooted the servr just to be completely sure and - nothing has changed. Timezones on server and laptop are ok, Windows time is correct on both machines. What stumbles me is that when starting the SageTV client locally on the server the displayed time is correct, starting the client on my laptop the time is also correct. Only when using Placeshifter the time is off. |

When you edited the properties file inside the "clients" folder did you make sure the Sage service was stopped? Otherwise the change won't work.
