Nvidia Pure Video Settings

Hi all,

I have been having trouble with 1080i video playing back smoothly in overlay. Today as an experiment I changed from Automatic to Smart. As soon as I did that the play back was smooth. Now it does not playback standard definition 480i as well as Automatic.

EDIT: A little more testing and I found that it had more to do with changing the de-interlace mode from best available to combine both fields. If I set it to show both fields again it is jerky and jumpy again. It does not seem to matter if I have automatic or smart selected. I am still interested in what others are using.

What settings are people using with both 480i and 1080i Sources?

Thanks,
John

Anamorphic/Widescren
Hardware Acceleration
Smart
Pixel Adaptive (You need to be playing a file for this to be a selectable option).
DirectX9 (nView...doesn't apply but I tick it anyway)

IVTC selected in the Graphics Driver.

I'm on Vista where smart seems to work fine (no toggling between Video/Film)...on XP I had to use Automatic.

I just went to the Nvidia decoder as Powerdvd decoder causes 'resume playback' on dvd's to hang Sage.

I use XP, and I found the Nvidia SMART setting best as AUTO would show interlave artifacts when FF/REW.
Combine fields I found to cause jerky playback, setting this to AUTO fixed this section for me.

I downloaded the trial version of the nVidia Decoder today. Not sure how to change the settings on it. If someone can point me in the right directions, that would be great. Thanks.

In detailed settings select "Default" decoder for video and dvd.

Put sage in windowed mode and start video playback. You should see the nvidia icon in the system tray.

Thanks. Funny that they make it so difficult.
