HD idle lockup continues... (02/12/2008: problem potentially fixed with firmware)

Has any progress been made in the HD extender idle lockups after the 20080125 2 firmware release?

You can try the latest beta firmware by entering the code 2382 on the firmware upgrade screen. If you try it let me know if it resolves your lockup issues.

Thanks

I could not force a lockup but I still intermittently get them. Last night I got one after the unit had been off for a little while.

Which firmware version are you using? The latest beta is 20080204 0.

Are you using SageTV V6.3.8 Release Candidate?

It fixed my HD-Ex lockups

Fluffdaddy - were you getting the lockups while the extender is IDLE? And what extender firmware are you running now along with 6.3.8?

I was getting lockups all over the place. Tech support sent me a file that they later placed in their software. I'm still using Firmware 20080128 0. I learned my lesson from last time..................Only update if you are having a problem.

I'll try the 6.3.8 server release candidate.

The lock-ups occur daily.

I'd prefer to have a root cause before updating the firmware

I'm not using the beta firmware but the latest version of the official firmware. I'm also using 6.3.7 because while I was using 6.3.8 I had problems with my HDHR. Reverting back to 6.3.7 fixed the issues.

I was having problems tuning channels and two channels were stuttering terribly. The tuning problem was a big issue as I was getting messages that I was unable to change channel because LiveTV was recording or something like that.

I reverted back to 6.3.7 and no more problems.

I just saw this issue for the first time. I don't remember which version of the firmware I'm using off the top of my head. I believe it was the one on the 20080129 (was there one on the 29th?).

In any case. It happened after my son turned off the tv and I subsequently turned off the extender using the remote's power button.

If any of this may matter:
SageTV 6.3.5
HD Extender (20080129 I think)
HDMI connection running at 720p
Was watching Tom and Jerry recorded off of an analog tuner when I pressed the power button on the remote.

Needed to do a cold boot on the extender to get it working again.

I had the "idle lockup" last night. I'm running the latest (not beta) released firmware on the Extender, and 6.3.8RC.
