Interestingly enough...one of the fixes in 1.2.7 adds support for the Avermedia card

Where? If cheap enough, I'll just buy one and try it out.

I hope it's ok to post retailers here- newegg has a refurbished section. $39 for the bare card.

I'd buy it but it's useless without windows xp mce (or possibly sage, which I don't have yet).

I have this card, and was never able to get decent looking video with it. I tried all sorts of Sage settings, different PCI slots, etc. to no avail.

I'd love to find out if anyone is able to 'successfully' use on of these as I'd love to be able to use it.

Reading the user reviews on the newegg site, it sounds like even at a bargain price, this card probably isn't worth it due to a crummy tuner giving users a bad picture. I think I'll keep looking for a hauppauge bargain...

Batorok,

I'd go the other way also. However, I don't think that the problem lies in the tuner since I only used the S-Video inputs and still got lousy results.

I had one of these cards and it worked fine....except for the bad quality picture that came out of the tuner.....
