Can't play DVDs from hard drive w/o green screen
Hi,
I've stored some DVDs on the sage server hardrive that I'd like to play through the client. Whenever I start the DVD, I hear it just fine, but I just get a green looking screen. Videos (.avi files), play OK, so it seems to be something with the video_ts structure. I've tried monkeying with the decoder settings in detailed setup, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas what to try next? Also, if the client changes things in the detailed setup screen, does it only affect that client, or all clients/placeshifters being used. Thanks, John |

What video decoder are you using? DO you have you video card with the latest video drivers?

If you're running on Vista make sure you haven't chosen overlay in Sage. Use VMR9. Ultimate should come with the Microsoft DVD decoder. I'm not sure if you can choose that in Sage or would need to use default. You may want to try a different decoder like Cyberlink PowerDVD.

Tried those settings, but no luck. I set my preferred decoder as the microsoft one, but it didn't work either. I installed a set of Vista decoders, but they didn't seem to help either. Is there a free decoder for Vista that is known to work?
Thanks, John |

Thank you! The Cyberlink decoder was the solution. I downloaded the trial version, which is limited, but still contains the decoder and now it works beautifully. Thanks again for the help.
