SageTV with cable card

Is it possible to get one of the Dell cable card systems and use SageTV as the front end? I really like my current set up, but I can't record a few of the channels that come in on the digital encrypted channels and I've been thinking about the cable card systems, but I haven't ever read of anyone actually using them with Sage.

You definitely need to take a look at this thread:

There are solutions for premium cable content on the way that don't have all the crappy DRM associated with cablecard.

Add to that the problems with cable card. I had one put in my HDTV and while it works (I don't have another remote to integrate into my universal and one less component in my entertainment center filling up an input on my TV), it's much more trouble prone than the cable box.

The cable companies don't really like them anyway. I had the cable company state that their system doesn't work as well with CC and some channels aren't available on CC because of it. Most newer TVs don't support it and no one has any desire to finish the CC 2.0 standard. Why would they when they can rent more expensive cable boxes and DVRs instead?

I love the concept but greed has killed it off. Why rent someone a CC for $2/month when you can rent them a cable box for $6.
