video timeline issues

Hi there,

I've had my SageTV install for ~9 months. About a month or so ago, some of the TV that we were recorded started acting funny when played back. I'm currently running the latest SageTV w/ the latest SageMC, viewing solely through MediaMVPs.

I see the following behavior, although not all on the same videos:
- the timeline moving a lot faster than the actual playback
- the video will jump to the beginning of the video at a certain point in the timeline
- sometimes the video will seem to skip ahead a bit randomly

I do use comskip monitor to run comskip on my recordings. The above seem to happen even if comskip auto skipping is disabled.

If I use placeshifter to access my sageTV server over my home network (I just downloaded and installed the latest version), using the default STV, I see the same video timeline behaviors.

Yesterday I added those Hauppauge registry changes, as I have a Happpauge 150 encoder card. I also made the change to the seeker property in my sage.properties file that I also saw referenced.

When I transfer one of the suspect files to another computer and view it with VLC, for example, the file plays fine. I downloaded the trial of VideoRedo and tried the Quick Stream Fix, but that did not appear to work at all. The output file was only 1k or so.

So, I'm waiting to see if any of the files that I've recorded since I Thursday will exhibit this problem, but is there any way to fix the playback of the past recorded files?

Also, it seems like it would be a good idea to include that registry fix in w/ the SageTV install, or at least issue it as a special bulletin or something.

Thanks.

todd
