FFmpeg - multiple files

Does anyone know how to run ffmpeg on multiple files (like - all mpg in Folder 1) from command line?

Documentation only seems to show how to process a single file like so:
ffmpeg -i mymovie.avi mymovie.mpg
Other progs seem to be able to run several files in a folder but only by selecting the multiple files manually.

Can mencoder do this?

Thanks.
