cancel recording deletes the recording???

I just noticed that if there is a recording going on and I hit Cancel Recording Sage deletes the recording.

WHY???

How can I get it to just stop recording. Here is an example: assume that I am recording a movie from the movie network. The movie network schedules everything on the hour or half hour, but movies never really end on the hour or half hour. So, if I notice that a movie is actually finished, but Sage is still recording, I want to be able to stop the recording early but keep the movie fill. Why does cancel delete?

Thanks
Greg

Cancel tells Sage you've changed your mind about keeping the recording. If you cancel a recording before it starts to record, it doesn't record, and you end up with no recording. If you cancel after it starts recording, you get the same effect: it stops recording, and you end up with no recording. That's what cancel means.

If you want to stop recording and keep the partial recording, there's a multi-function stop plugin that has that option.

Sage will not delete partial files if you set this property. I believe the default is set to true. Also if you plan on cutting commercials make sure the property is set to false as below.

seeker/clear_partials_and_unwanted_when_ir_off=false.

You can set this property using the UI its under Detailed Setup... Customize...Delete LiveTV files when not using IR. Just set it to NO
