Sage and HVR-1600

I just bought the Sage software and I'm trying to tune analog cable with my HVR-1600. It works fine in WinTV but in Sage when I try to add the source it says "Waiting for the Video Preview to load" and just sits there. Any suggestions?

Make sure the WinTV software isn't loaded or uninstall it. You should also be able to just skip the preview and choose to use the tuner and finish the configuration.

Should I just use the HCWclear program, start fresh, and just install the drivers?

That wouldn't hurt. I don't have that card so search the forum for other posts on installing and configuring this card.

The video preview function in the setup doesn't work well. Mine works fine live and recording but there's something with the preview that's glitchy. When I can get mine to work it doesn't change channels properly. Like gplasky stated make sure the wintv software isn't open, it can be installed on the PC just make sure it's not open at the same time as Sage since the two can't share, and just skip the preview and finish.

In that screen you should be able to arrow down with the keyboard and hit the enter key. (Don't use the mouse.) Or try waiting a longer period of time and see if it will let you.

I had the exact same problem. Contacted support and they identified my problem very quickly. I had a "seeker/video_storage" directory defined that Sage was not able to write to. Removing the directory solved my problem.

Coodos to Sage support!
