Firewire channel changing

Who on here is using firewire to change channels, and how are you doing it?

There is a whole topic about firewire: STB Firewire (IEEE-1394) Support, covering both firewire recording and channel changing. Towards the end, there are several posts about just changing channels & the download's Guide section has a document about firewire channel changing. I mentioned my results here.

I just migrated to a new server from XP to Windows Server 2003.

Here are a few notes different than the guides for XP.

1) install the msi fro Timmmore before you plug-in a cable box
2) optional: reboot
3) plug-in the cable box and navigate the popups; I had 3 devices from this event: panel, tuner, unknown. I disabled the 'unknown'.
4) see Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Imaging Devices; you need both the tuner and the panel to be working; mine worked immediatly
5) The mstape.sys file for my Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1 did not match at 130 in the hex editor; I kept the drivers from the Timmmore install .... so I did not create a mstapeo.sys
6) I did a channel change test using channel.exe and channelw.exe without issue.

Are you saying you got channel changing to work through firewire? If so, please explain how to set that up, thanks.
