HVR-2200 (2250)
Hi Guys,
Has anyone had an luck the analogue side of the the Hauppauge 2200 (either analogue tuning, S-Video or Composite). DVB-T works a treat but I get an rendering error when I choose the other options. I am also prompted to add an audio input option although the only choice is the motherboard audio - Strange. I have used 6.3.10 and 6.4.5 beta with the latest drivers. I am running under Vista Home Premium x64. Any Help much appreciated. Here is the error from the log - Attached is the complete log file Mon 7/21 21:25:48.861 NATIVE RenderVideo called Mon 7/21 21:25:48.862 Exception from line: 230 Mon 7/21 21:25:48.863 Built:sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x80004005): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. I've had the same problem and a number of people I know are eager for a fix. (It's a popular card) SageTV thinks the card needs software encoding on the analog side, but the card has hardware encoding. I've submitted some logs with a few different settings.
I'd recommend doing a bug submission for it. I know that a fix will come eventually, but it may help with it getting a bit more focus on a resolution. John |

Thanks - Bug submitted.
I purchased 2 of these boards, hoping to run 2 x DVB-T and 2 for S-Video capture from STB. Fingers crossed. Cheers |

Just had an update on what's needed to get the analog on the HVR-2200 working in SageTV 6.4.5
This DShowCapture.dll update and the registry changes in this zip file. Works well for me. SageTV comes through again. John |

Your a champion - Thanks for that works fine. I am using Vista x64 so needed to change a different registry location, hope this is right.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Frey Technologies\Common\AdditionalCaptureSetups\Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture] "ChipsetMask"=dword:00000010 "CaptureMask"=dword:00008800 Thanks again |

So, has your experience with this card been a good one? I'm considering purchasing, but still a little shaky because of the 'rigged' Sage support.
Is Sage going to get default support for this product in an upcoming release (and soon!)?

Hi JREkiw,
Do you know what the issues are with the analog ? I am seeing some random pauses with SageTV client. If I FFwd everything kicks off as normal no issues. |

Thanks Qian, that's got both analog tuners back working again for me.
FYI, I had all sorts of crashes and general capture weirdness happening on 3 different model Hauppauge cards after updating the files, until I did a full system restart. It's not the first time I've had the Hauppauge drivers do strange things in similar situations. John |

Works MOSTLY for me too.
I am still having trouble with the guide. I have FTA HD Channels 2,7,9,10 & 28 and Foxtel Cable (Via S-Video) channels 100 through 912. The guide only shows me 28 through 912. I dont see 2,7,9 or 10. If I remove Foxtel - I can see channels 2,7,9,10 and 28 I am using XMLTV importer Thanks again |

Hello,
I am trying to understand what problems these files will fix. I have a single HVR-2250 board - it is setup as two ATSC OTA tuners, and two NTSC OTA tuners. The only problem I run into is when tuning a NTSC station, sometimes it is obviously using the ATSC tuner to do it (I get a solid blue screen). I can fix this problem by switching channels to an ATSC channel and then back - it generally will use the NTSC tuner after this channel change. Will these files fix that problem? Thanks. ________ Jaguar mark 2 Last edited by bmac.to; 03-21-2011 at 05:15 AM. |

anyway if you use two analog tuners on a card, you should update.

Hauppauge 2250 support
Hi all, new SageTV owner here needs help.
I have a nice new high end PC with Vista Premium 32bit and a Hauppauge 2250 card connected to Comcast cable (analog and clear qam). I tried setting up Sage and it seems to lockup when setting up the source. I know this isn't an officially supported card but hoped it would somewhat work. I had it all running ok with VMC, so, the card and cable signal should be ok. Prior to installing sage I disabled the VMC services, ehtray, and rebooted. I also uninstalled the Hauppauge software, ran hwclear, rebooted, reinstalled hauppage s/w, rebooted. After the first test with Sage failed, I tried the new setting recommended by qian: seeker/fast_mux_switch=false and new files: TSSplitter.ax DShowCapture.dll In all cases, SageTV appears to lockup when attempting to select the source. It happens if I select either Analog or Digital. I have to terminate the process, reboot, try again. One curious thing is that it does briefly show the analog channel before locking up. Any ideas or suggestions ? From what I've read, Sage seems great. So, if I need to wait a bit longer for official support, I'll do that. Thanks! * merged * |

Some progress with the 2250 ...
While setting up the signal source, I immediately accepted the source before it had a chance to lock up. I was able to get both analog sources configured and both sort of worked. I say sort of because I was able to get them both recording at the same time. But, sometimes when selecting a channel it wouldn't tune and instead would give a blank screen. Next, I tried configuring digital tv (clear QAM) using the 2250. The scan proceeded for some time and mapped more than 30 digital channels before it crashed. Windows gave the following crash information: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: SageTV.exe Application Version: 6.0.13.1 Application Timestamp: 48a4a0eb Fault Module Name: TSSplitter.ax Fault Module Version: 6.4.6.1 Fault Module Timestamp: 48c5aaad Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001cdd5 OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: fd00 Additional Information 2: ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160 Additional Information 3: fd00 Additional Information 4: ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160 |

Question on HVR-2250's 2 tuners, 2 input sources
I've probably got some real rookie questions here, but please bear w/ me. I've got some questions on how Sage handles HD and SD channels, and how this particular card *could/should* work, assuming official support comes. I've never bought a digital tuner to record HD content, but we're about to get some clear QAM from our cable provider, and I'm thinking of getting a digital tuner card. FYI: I usually record favorites (very few manual recordings), and almost never watch live tv ...
Specifically, I want to make sure I get the "2 tuners w/ 2 sources each" concept right, and understand how Sage chooses to record a favorite when it may be offered concurrently in both SD and HD. Step 1. Assume I can get a 2250 to load successfully in Sage, and create the four possible sources mentioned so far (2 x digital, 2 x analog). I assume Sage will continue to understand my favorites priorities, and to honor my recording priorities as far as it can. (I'm used to managing occasional conflicts as they arise with my current dual NTSC tuners.) Since I don't get the QAM signal today, I'm guessing on the rest. I'm guessing the cable provider will offer some local channels in both HD and SD. In cases where local Channel X is broadcast both in SD (e.g. Channel 5) and HD (e.g. Channel 12), would I need to create a custom channel lineup that ignores the SD-only Channel 5? Or Is Sage smart enough to detect that Channels 5 and 12 are showing the same content at different resolutions? I guess I just don't want to take a step backward in terms of tuner/source flexibility. I can nicely record two analog/NTSC channels right now w/ no problem. If I get the 2250, I don't want to have to dedicate either of its tuners to "digital only" recording. From what I can tell, that shouldn't be required, but I'm hoping some kind soul can put my fears to rest. If Sage can tune/control both of the 2250 tuners' digital and and analog sources, and if Sage can smartly apply my favorite recording preferences, would Sage automagically record any HD showings of my favorites if a digital source is available/free rather than the SD showing of the same favorite at the same time? Thanks, Ryan |

Hey guys, Has anyone got 2 x HVR-2200' working with 4 sources simultaneously ?
I have 2 x HVR-2200 (DVB-T version of 2250). Each HVR-2200 is configured for S-Video capture (Cable box) and FTA (DVB-T). Viewing each source in turn one by one all works fine. BUT if I record S-Video and try to watch an FTA show on the same board I get the "No Signal' icon. I was under the impression I could use two inputs at the same time ? I am using 6.4 with Qian's TSSplitter and DShowCapture and the latest HVR-Drivers. Thanks |

I do not have two cards but I did see a set of beta drivers are available for these cards from Hauppauge - I have not tried them as I do not have any issues. Check in the following directory.
ftp://hauppauge.com/support/beta/wiltshire/ They come with a set of release notes which didnt really mean much to me but they may to you. Note that a lot of these fixes may be related to VMC - people running VMC seem to have loads of issues with this card. ________ Honda XLV750R history Last edited by bmac.to; 03-21-2011 at 05:17 AM. |
