Recording schedule and recordings disappeared after beta install

I just install the latest beta over whatever version is available on the homepage. I've found that my scheduled recordings list has disappeared as has my recorded files. Is there something I can do to get these back?

Recordings and settings should be retained by an upgrade install. Are you sure you installed it to the same directory?

Pretty certain. It didn't ask me and said updating. All of my other settings and ir key mappings were there. I did have to force a EPG update, but other than that it looks like everything else is in place.

The installer should always ask for the install location. I would double check that. And, check the filters on your recordings & schedule menus to see if things are just getting filtered out for some reason.

Search your drives for wiz.bin to see if there is another copy somewhere. Are you using Vista & because of UAC, wiz.bin is getting loaded frmo a different location for some reason now?

Thanks for the help. I double checked and I'm only finding SageTV installed once (C:\Program Files\SageTV\).

I did not find another Wiz.bin file, but I did find some Win.bin.corrupt0,Wiz.bin.corrupt1, and Wiz.bak ... Looks like something went wrong somewhere? I'm noticing that the Wiz.bin.corrupt1 file is from yesterday's date.

Any ideas?

Yes, it looks like the database files got corrupted for some reason. My guesses for this happening are system crashes or the SageTV process exiting unexpectedly (program crash or process was killed instead of exited cleanly).

Did you make a backup of your files before installing the new version?

SageTV makes a backup of the old version's data files the first time a new version is run -- look for "wiz.bin.SageTV <version #>" in your SageTV directory. You could try copying that to wiz.bin, but be sure SageTV isn't running when you do that, including stopping the service if using service mode.

It exists, but it's filesize 0 ... Oh well... I'll just start over . I have only been running SageTV for less than a month so it won't be too painful.

Thank you very much for the prompt answers.
