Sage Crashing when coming out of standby

I run sage in service mode, using only my HD extenders for watching tv. I am having a problem with the extenders waking sage out of S3 standby. Every once in a while, the extender will only show a black screen and I find that the sage service is no longer running on the server.

There are also occasions when the extender does seem to load properly and when I try to watch a video, I will get java exceptions and a video failure warning on the screen from the extender at which point I need to reboot the server, because restarting the service give java errors.

My guess is that this might be a java problem. I am running Java 6 with update 4. There are no other instances of java installed on the server.

This is the first time I have tried to implement S3 standby, so I have no idea if this is a beta issue or not.
