UI: Animated Transitions & Transparencies

So Brent are you saying that your experiment didn't work after all? I'd really like to see animations like this available in Sage.

Sage cannot display animated image files (the kind that you can open a png or jpg and the image itself moves). So no that didn't work.

BUT, it is my understanding that SageTV can do animated backgrounds in a way that is similar to VMC. To do this however it will take someone to make or modify a STV using Studio. VMC uses a static background image and then takes several layered images to make the animation effect. From what I understand, this could be done in Java resulting in the same effect.

If anyone with the skills wants to try a mod to one of the STV's, I have a bunch of image files from some VMC mod'd themes that could be used for this purpose. Just let me know.
