High 5 for SAGE and HDHR
I just installed 6.4.8 and the new HDHR latest releases and the new extender firmware. And I have to say...WOW
I had really good HD picture before (I thought)..Now the HD picture is significantly better...very, very clear..and I am still using component input..Can't wait to get new bigger screen TV with HDMI. Thanks Sage... Gary Ellis |

Were you using the HDHR before? How can the picture improve if the HDHR and Sage just save the digital stream that is sent by your provider?
I've been holding off upgrading because I am very happy with my setup right now and do not want to have to reconfigure the HDHR. If the picture really is better I will reconsider upgrading (when the Olympics are over).

Yes, I've used the HDHR since it first came out. I was hesitant also to upgrade, since it seemed a little complicated. But, finally yesterday, I did.
I did the HDHR upgrade first and found all the channels (I was glad I did because I am receiving a couple of more channels via cable than before, i.e.,, USA HD - we'll see if its still there after the olympics) Once I found the channels, I then upgraded Sage. I deleted both HDHR tuners from the video sources and then reloaded the first HDHR tuner. At the end of reloading it, I used the channel scan like it said to do and it found all of them... I then reloaded the second tuner and did the channel scan and all was well. I then upgrade my HD extender firmware. I can't explain it, but the HD picture is significantly clearer.. And I thought it was good before...It seems a little brighter in the backgroud... I'm very pleased... Gary Ellis |
